NAV1GATE a Successful Semester

Congratulations! You are over halfway through your first year at UNCG!

Recently, we have received numerous requests about how to be more successful in your classes this semester. Please see below for ways that you can finish the semester strong:

  • Read your syllabi! They are the roadmap for your class and share all of the specifics about what assignments and tasks you have for each class
  • Turn in assignments by the listed due dates!
  • Participation in class is essential! Participation can look different in every class, make sure you are checking your syllabi for what your professor is expecting of you
  • Seek out resources:
  • At the end of this newsletter we have shared several academic support resources. They include the Academic Achievement Center, Writing Center, and the Speaking Center
  • Reach out to your PALs or other student leaders! They are students just like you and can be a great resource
  • Reach out to your professor for help! If you are struggling with a class, try contacting your professor and setting up a meeting to discuss strategies to be successful in their class.
