Freshman Forum: Getting Ready for Spring Course Registration
Monday, October 4
4 – 5:15 p.m.

The Freshman Forum: Getting Ready for Spring Course Registration will provide you with helpful mid-semester information and preparation for Spring 2022 course registration. Specifically, this virtual forum will include:
  • A Q&A panel with student success representatives discussing topics such as available academic support services, how to know when you need help with a class, and how to best communicate with your instructors, especially in online classes.
  • Breakout sessions hosted by each Academic Advising Center to prepare you for Spring 2022 academic advising and course registration. 
Attendance at this program is highly recommended for first-year students. Students who attend will have a chance to win a $20 Amazon gift card! Visit the program website for access instructions and to submit a question for the panel.
File your 2022-2023 FAFSA
Friday, October 1

This Friday, October 1, begins the priority period to file your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the 2022-2023 academic year. You must file a FAFSA every year for financial aid consideration, and the sooner the better. Read through these Tips for Filing the FAFSA or make a virtual appointment with a Financial Aid counselor using Starfish if you have questions about FAFSA or financial aid.  
Withdraw Fail Grade Deadline
Friday, October 8

Friday, October 8, is the final day to withdraw from a class without receiving a withdraw fail (WF) grade. A WF grade is calculated as a failing grade in your GPA. Talk to an advisor from your academic college or school’s advising center prior to the deadline if you are considering dropping any classes.
Deadline to Request Tutoring
Friday, October 8

The Academic Achievement Center offers small-group tutoring free to all UNCG students. Tutoring is available from trained, faculty-recommended tutors in several 100- and 200- level courses. Tutoring is a one hour weekly commitment delivered primarily via Zoom for Fall 2021. The deadline to request tutoring is
Friday, October 8. Please note that tutoring is contingent upon available tutors and sessions.

Fall Break
Monday & Tuesday, October 11-12

There will be no classes on Monday and Tuesday, October 11 and 12, for Fall Break. Enjoy the break, find some time to relax, and make sure you stay on top of your assignments before you return to class. Classes will resume on
Wednesday, October 13.

Do you want to become a well-rounded student leader? Do you want to show off your love for the G? Apply to be a part of the Spartan Orientation Staff (SOS)!
