Advising and Registration

Next semester is right around the corner and it’s time to see your advisor to register for Spring 2020 classes! Be sure to reach out to your advisor to schedule an advising appointment – your advisor’s name is listed in UNCGenie.They will be able to help you decide which classes right for you to take and also answer any questions you may have regarding the registration process. To register, you will need your advising code from your academic advisor and your assigned registration window. The registration window is the unique day and time you are allowed to register based on how many credit hours you have completed. Check UNCGenie to see your assigned registration window. (Enter the secure area, click “student” tab, click “registration,” click “check your registration status,” select “Spring 2020,” and submit.)

Meet at the Baseball Stadium

Think you have Spartan spirit? Show it at Storm the Streets on Tuesday, November 5 for the men’s basketball home opener. To kick-off the event, all Spartans will gather at the Baseball Stadium at 4:15 p.m. for a spirit march to the Greensboro Coliseum. There will be free stuff, free pizza, music, and a spirit costume contest at a tailgate before the game. Bring your SpartanCard for free entrance into all basketball games. This year the Spartans will take on local rival North Carolina A&T and win (AGAIN) – game start time is 7 p.m. Deck out in your G Force t-shirt or your best blue and gold. Be creative! Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving break begins on Wednesday, November 27; be sure to enjoy some of your favorite foods and show your thanks to those who matter to you! UNCG offices will be closed November 28 – 29. Offices will open and classes will resume on Monday, December 2.

First Finals Fest

Your First Year is hosting First Finals Fest to celebrate the success and achievements of your first semester. This is a time for you to pick-up your free finals survival kit! Join us Wednesday, December 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Moran Commons, Room 109.

Last Day of Classes & Reading Day

The Last Day of Classes (LDOC) is Wednesday, December 4. The following day, Thursday, December 5, is Reading Day which is a full day for you to dedicate to preparing for final exams. Offices will still be open, but there will be no classes. To ensure your success, we suggest you begin studying for your finals well before Reading Day.

SOS Application Deadline Extended

The Spartan Orientation Staff (SOS) application deadline has been extended. Apply on handshake by Friday, November 1. Learn more about the SOS position here.

September Trivia Winner

The answer to the September Trivia question is…. 1891! UNCG was founded in 1891 as a women’s college. Our randomly selected winner is Andrea Tyson. Congrats!

Halloween Social Media Contest

Happy Halloween, Spartans! Think you have the most creative costume? Show us, boo! Tag @UNCG_YFY in your Halloween pics on any of our social media platforms for a chance to win a spooky prize. Winner will be chosen on November 1 and announced on our social media!
