Position Description

The Spartan Orientation Staff (SOS) are a group of student leaders who help welcome and orient the new students to UNCG. These leaders are carefully selected and trained during spring in order to be better prepared for the upcoming orientation sessions held throughout the year. The success of the orientation program is largely determined by the strength of the SOS, so we look for the best and brightest students from across campus to serve.

Qualifications

Fulfill NST & FYE mission and demonstrate a commitment to UNCG. Exhibit reliablity, responsibility, confidence, flexibility, positive attitude, strong work ethic, team work, problem solving, initiative, conflict management, and communication. Maintain a 2.75 minimum cumulative GPA and good academic standing with the university. Uphold university standards of conduct.

Application & Interview Process

Online applications will open September 30th. Applicants will go through a round of group interview followed by a second round of individual interviews.

Training and Schedule

All Spartan Orientation Staff must complete leadership development workshops, all SOAR sessions in June, August, and January, NAV1GATE, Rawkin' Welcome Week, SPEARS, Athletic events, and other NST & FYE events as needed.
