Midterm Grades Website

The midterm grades website includes information about your midterm grades in more detail including a step by step guide on how to find and access your grades.

What is the Midterm Grade Policy?

Starting in the Fall 2022 semester, all classes that are the standard 15 weeks in length will have a midterm grade posted for the course by September 23, 2022. This means that on September 24, you can log into UNCGenie and check your midterm grades. Once you have reviewed them, you should talk to your instructor about what your grades mean and learn how you can earn the final grade that you want.

Understanding your Midterm Grades

Did you know that your midterm grades are not included in your GPA or on your transcript? Midterm grades are simply a guide of how you are doing in your classes by the end of the sixth week of the semester. This means you have the chance to improve your grades before the end of the semester.

Your midterm grades likely mean different things for each of your courses. You may have turned in a lot of graded assignments for one course, but only a few for a different course. Whether you have a high or a low midterm grade then, can be a signal of how you need to continue working or make changes before the end of the semester to have the highest possible final grade. Talking to your instructor can help you determine what your midterm grade means in their specific course and learn how you can continue to work towards the best final grade.

It is important to remember that you should speak to both your instructor and your academic advisor about your grades before you consider dropping a course.
