The Freshman Forum: Preparing for Virtual Final Exams will provide first-year students with helpful information and advice on how to prepare for virtual college-level final exams at UNCG. Topics covered will include:
  • Differences between high school tests and college final exams
  • How to prepare a test-taking space for a virtual exam
  • What to expect from test proctoring software
  • Study and preparation tips
  • Student and faculty advice on what to expect and how to prepare

Freshman Forum: Getting Ready for Spring Course Registration
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Freshman Forum: Getting Ready for Spring Course Registration.

If you missed the live program earlier this month, you should watch the session recordings online here .

We encourage you to watch the course registration breakout session hosted by your College or School. We also recommend watching the recording of the opening session which focuses on academic support resources available to help you with your current fall classes.

Advising and Registration

Next semester is right around the corner and it’s time to see your advisor to register for Spring 2021 classes!

Steps to be Prepared for Registration:

  • Reach out to your advisor to schedule an advising appointment – your advisor’s name is listed in UNCGenie . If you do not see an advisor listed, please refer to this list of majors to find your College or School and this list of contacts for each College and School.


  • Check UNCGenie to see your assigned registration window.  Enter the Secure Area–>click Student tab–>click Registration–>click Check your Registration Status–>select Spring 2021 and Submit.

Last Day of Classes &Final Exams

LDOC: Tuesday, November 24
Mark your calendar – Tuesday, November 24 is the last day of classes! On that day, the University will follow a Monday schedule for classes. So, instead of attending your Tuesday classes that day, you will attend your Monday classes. Check your syllabi for details and contact your instructors if you have any questions.
Final Exam Week: November 30 – December 5
Give yourselves a round of applause because we know this semester has been challenging. Final exams begin virtually on November 30 and go until December 5. You can view the Fall 2020 Final Exam schedule here . Look closely because the final exam schedule is different from your semester’s class schedule.
First G at the G

Are you a first generation college student? First G at the G is a week-long series of events with programming meant to help first-generation students connect with each other, faculty, and staff while learning about campus resources. First G at the G also offers book scholarships for first-generation students. Click here to learn more about the scholarship and the schedule of events.
