First Year Connect Newsletter 08-24-2020
Hey Spartans!
Welcome to Your First Year at UNCG! This is your first edition of the monthly
First Year Connect newsletter which highlights important campus updates, resources, and opportunities you won’t want to miss.
The Keker Common Experience

The Keker Common Experience is a holistic student success program designed to help you transition to academic life at UNCG. It is a great opportunity for you to get involved and develop skills to help you succeed at UNCG and beyond! There are three components:
  • The Keker Success Guide
  • The Keker Success Series
  • The Keker Common Experience Scholarship
The Keker Success Guide

You received your Keker Success Guide during SOAR: The Campus Edition. This guide is a great resource filled with tips, tricks, and campus resources.

If you do not have your guide, you can respond to this email to coordinate a
pick-up time from our office.
The Keker Success Series

A series of programs and experiences to help you succeed. Here are some upcoming opportunities; the full semester calendar will be released soon.

Be sure to stay up to date with the
Keker Success Series by checking
SpartanConnect and YFY social media.

The Keker Common Experience Scholarship

By participating in the Keker Common Experience, you could be eligible to apply for The Keker Common Experience Scholarship. This is an essay competition to show how much you have grown during your first year at UNCG. More information on this opportunity to come.
Add/Drop Ends Today

Today, Monday, August 24, is the final day to add or drop classes from your fall semester schedule. After today, your financial aid will be locked-in based on the number of credit hours in your schedule. If you are considering class changes, you should contact your advisor or the advising center for your College or School immediately for assistance.

You can also utilize the Students First Office drop-in hours today from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. if you are an Exploratory student or if you have non-major specific questions.
Labor Day
