Welcome to Your First Year at UNCG! This is your first edition of the monthly First Year Connect newsletter which highlights important campus updates, resources, and events you won’t want to miss.
Are you living on campus this fall? Move in begins on August 14th. Each residence hall has a specific move-in date so be sure to check the Housing & Residence Life (HRL) website for your date. In the meantime, start thinking about what to pack . Make your space feel like your home away from home. You can also view the unique features of each residence hall online. Students attending August SOAR should contact HRL for specific information about move-in.
NAV1GATE New Student Convocation
The first weekend of the semester is going to be a blast! Kick it off by getting READY on Friday, then getting SET on Saturday. Sunday will be GO TIME! Remember, you will wear your G-Force t-shirt for the Class Photo on Sunday, August 18th. Afterward, you will pick up another free t-shirt to wear on Monday, August 19th for NAV1GATE New Student Convocation . NAV1GATE is an all-day required event to help you celebrate your first day at the G!
Rawkin’ Welcome Week 2019
Your first weekend on campus will be full of fun and excitement, but it doesn’t stop there! A range of events will continue through Saturday, August 24th; you can find the full calendar here . These events are great ways to meet new people, feel connected to campus, and learn how to succeed in your first year!

The Keker Common Experience
The Keker Common Experience is a student success program designed to help first year students like you transition to life at the G. This program will empower you with the skills needed to find your way here and have a successful first year at the G. The first step is receiving your Keker Success Guide at NAV1GATE, and after that you will have the opportunity to engage in the Keker Success Series, Keker Speaker Visit, and the Keker Common Experience Scholarship!
