Alpha Lambda Delta is a prestigious national honor society of high achieving first-year students. The mission of ALD is to encourage superior academic achievement among students in their first year in institutions of higher education, to promote intelligent living and a continued high standard of learning, and to assist students in recognizing and developing meaningful goals for their roles in society.

What does the UNCG Chapter do?
The UNCG chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta hosts a variety of events throughout the academic year that allows members to engage in personal development, participate in volunteer activities, and connect with other members of the chapter. This includes but is not limited to:
- Chapter Meetings
- Study Nights
- Personal Development Sessions with Campus Partners
- Volunteer opportunities with various organizations around Greensboro
- ALD Community Events
How much are dues?
Local dues are $25 and National dues are $30
Transfer students
Students who come to UNCG with transfer credits are ineligible to be invited to join Alpha Lambda Delta. There is an honors society for transfer students called Tau Sigma. For more information visit https://newstudents.uncg.edu/tau-sigma/
Who is eligible for an invitation to join?
First-time in college students who have obtained at least a 3.5 GPA in their first semester.
How do I become a member?
Invitations are sent out during the Spring Semester typically around the beginning of February. Once you have been invited to join, you will have to accept your invitations by this date. Save the date for the induction ceremony which is happening on April 7, 2024!
