Second Year Launch

Congratulations on a successful first year at UNCG, now it’s time to launch into your second year! 

Let’s get ready to celebrate! Bring your friends and join the Your First Year team on the last day of classes, Wednesday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Second Year Launch. We will be located in front of The Caf in the Fountain View Dining area.

•   A live DJ performance
•   FREE food & games
•   Photo booth
•   Appearance by Spiro
•   FREE exam kits – scantron, blue book, highlighter, etc.
•   Other surprise FREE giveaways!

Interested in reviewing meal plans for the summer/fall? Need job/internship recommendations? Tutoring suggestions? UNCG Dining, Academic Achievement Center, Career & Professional Development, and Campus Activities & Programs will all be there to provide resources and support to you all! 

Second Year Launch is a part of the YFY Success Series – so you can receive credit for attending! See you all there!

Last Day of Classes and Reading Day

April 26 – 27

This week is the last week of classes! You have almost made it to the end of your first year at UNCG. Take a few moments to revel in that accomplishment. We know this has been a long and eventful academic year; keep pushing to the end!

• Wednesday, April 26 is the last day of classes! 
• Thursday, April 27 is Reading Day. Use this day to get organized and re-centered as you head into your final exams.

Final Exams

April 28-29, Fri. & Sat.

May 1-4, Mon.-Thurs.

Final exams start this Friday! The final exam schedule and your syllabi are good resources to confirm the timing and location for each of your final exams. Start studying now to make sure that you are ready! In addition, remember to return any rented textbooks to the UNCG Bookstore before your unique return rental due date.

Move-out for Residential Students 

It’s time to start organizing your plans for move-out. Your RA and the Housing & Residence Life website can provide helpful information about the check-out policies and procedures. Move-out dates are based on the final exam schedule; all residents are scheduled to move out 24 hours after their last exam OR by 4 p.m. the day before graduation (whichever comes first). We hope you have a relaxing and safe summer!

Taking a Summer Course

If you are interested in taking summer courses, registration is currently open! Talk with your academic advisor or an advisor in the Students First Office if you have questions about summer courses. Not all students decide to take summer classes, but it can be a great option for some students so be sure to explore whether this is right for you and your academic plan.
