Add/Drop Deadline and Academic Advising

January 13

Per the university’s academic calendar, Friday, January 13 is the last day that you are allowed to make changes to your classes for the semester, also known as the add/drop deadline.

Reach out to an academic advisor if you are considering adding or dropping any classes. If you aren’t sure who your advisor is, you can contact your college or school’s advising center. Select your college or school’s name on this website to see their contact information. You can add/drop classes in UNCGenie under the student “registration” menu.

The Students First Office is also hosting expanded drop-in advising for assistance with schedule adjustment during the first week of classes. SFO drop-ins this week are Monday, January 9 through Friday, January 13 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. via Zoom or in-person in Forney 101. For more information please visit the SFO website.

FYE 101: Succeed at the G

Do you still need to complete your MAC Foundations competency course this spring? If so, enrolling in FYE 101: Succeed at the G can help you fulfill this requirement while also fostering academic success, engaging in personal development, and connecting with the UNCG community.

If you have any questions, please reply to this email and include your UNCG ID in the response!

Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday and Day of Service

January 14 and January 16

9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

UNCG will not hold classes on Monday, January 16 in recognition of Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. Offices will also be closed.

The Office of Leadership & Civic Engagement (OLCE) will host UNCG’s annual university-wide day of service on Saturday, January 14. Consider volunteering to honor Dr. King’s legacy through service.

File your 2023-2024 FAFSA

The priority period to file your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) has begun for the 2023-2024 academic year. You must file a FAFSA every year for financial aid consideration, and the sooner the better. Read through these Tips for Filing the FAFSA or make a virtual appointment with a Financial Aid counselor using Starfish if you have questions about FAFSA or financial aid.
