Advising and Registration

Next semester is right around the corner and it’s time to meet with your advisor to register for Spring 2024 classes! 

Steps to be Prepared for Registration:

• Reach out to your advisor to schedule an advising appointment – your advisor’s name is listed in UNCGenie.
• If you do not see an advisor listed, please refer to this list of majors to find your College or School and this list of contacts for each College and School.
• Review the Registration Guide to learn step-by-step instructions for how to navigate the registration process.
• Check UNCGenie to see your assigned registration window. 

1. Enter the Secure Area
2. Click Student tab
3. Click Registration
4. Click Check your Registration Status
5. Select Spring 2024 and Submit.

Last Chance to Apply to be an SOS!

There’s still time to apply to be a part of the Spartan Orientation Staff (SOS)! 

If you love helping new students, getting involved on campus, and developing as a leader, SOS could be the job for you! The SOS are the first group of people who get to welcome new students to the G. Apply on Handshake with Job Code #8112124. The application closes tonight (10/23) at 11:59 p.m.

YFY Success Planner Survey and Focus Group

Your First Year is looking for feedback on the 2023-2024 YFY Success Planner to improve the 2024-2025 YFY Success Planner. Share your feedback and suggestions one of two ways!

• Complete the anonymous survey.
• Participate in a focus group! 
• There are a few spots left on Tuesday, October 24 from 1 – 2 p.m. Use this form to sign up and email yfy@uncg.edu with any questions.
• Gift cards will be provided for all participants!

Storm the Streets

Friday, November 10 at 4:30 p.m.

Meet at the UNCG Baseball Stadium 

Bring your Spartan spirit to Storm the Streets on Friday, November 10 for the men’s basketball home opener. To kick-off the event, all Spartans will gather at the UNCG Baseball Stadium at 4:30 p.m. for a spirit march to the Greensboro Coliseum. This year UNCG will take on NC A&T! Ticket information can be found here. 

Be sure to bring your Spartan Card and wear your best blue and gold. Be creative, the best-dressed Spartans will have a chance to win a prize at the spirit contest! This is an event you do not want to miss. For more information, visit: go.uncg.edu/sts.

Thanksgiving Break

Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday, November 22-24

Thanksgiving break begins on Wednesday, November 22; be sure to enjoy some of your favorite foods and show your thanks to those who matter to you! UNCG offices will be closed November 23 – 24. Offices will open and classes will resume on Monday, November 27.

Don’t forget, Spartans, this is your last chance to submit the First Year Connect Survey! Your First Year is surveying all first-year students this semester on the helpfulness of this newsletter. For completing this survey, we will be selecting 25 students to receive a $25 gift card to the University Bookstore!
