First Finals Fest

Your First Year is hosting First Finals Fest on Wednesday, December 4. Together, we will celebrate the successful completion of your
first

semester. You can pick up a FREE exam study kit and eat some sweet treats. During the event, you will have the opportunity to learn about various resources to help you be successful:

How to create a study plan
How to sign up for a tutor next semester
Steps to declare or change your major
Information on spring 2020 course registration
Dates for upcoming resume workshops and career fairs
Information on Alpha Lambda Delta, a national honor society for first-year students
And more!

All first-year and transfer students are invited to attend this fun event.

Reading Day & Luminaries Tradition

Reading day is Thursday, December 5, the day following the last day of classes and a day to prepare for final exams. That night, be sure to stop by and view the luminaries lining College Avenue. This campus tradition dates back to 1969 and only occurs one night each year.

It’s the end of the semester! So you know what that means – it’s time for final exams. Make sure you use your time wisely to prepare for all of your final assignments. Use your campus resources like the
Writing Center

Speaking Center

Academic Achievement Center
, and
University Libraries
to ensure you do your best. Review the

to double check the date and time for each of your exams. Good luck!

Winter Break

Winter break is just around the corner! Break officially starts on December 13 or after your last exam. Be sure to review the
winter break housing
information if you live on campus. Happy holidays and we will see you in 2020! Classes will resume on January 13.

Spartan Open Pantry

UNCG has multiple on-campus resources to assist with food insecurity.

The
Spartan Open Pantry
is open for food distribution from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. on Tuesdays & Wednesdays at College Place UMC on 509 Tate Street. They also serve hot meals from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. every Wednesday.

The SOPtoGO (pictured below) is open Monday through Friday in the Mossman Administration Building. Students can pick up 2-5 non-perishable items after checking-in at the Student Affairs Window on the first floor.
