YFY Online Certificate Program
What is the YFY Online Certificate Program?
The YFY Online Certificate Program is a recognition and engagement initiative designed specifically for first-year online degree-seeking students at UNCG. It rewards you for actively participating in programs and activities that support your academic success, personal growth, and community connection!
By taking part in various YFY Online opportunities—like events, discussions, peer meetings, and support services—you’ll work towards completing your YFY Online checklist.
This is more than just a digital badge—it’s a way to:
- Showcase your involvement in your first-year experience
- Build key skills that employers and faculty value
- Add to your Spartan Experience Transcript
- Strengthen your résumé and portfolio
How it works:

| Download and send a screenshot of the YFY Success Calendar (access from the YFY Success Planner) to ONL100@uncg.edu | ☐ |
| Attend a Drop-In Session with an Online Student Supporter | ☐ |
| Attend a Weekly Event with an Online Student Supporter | ☐ |
| Attend three YFY Online events and complete the pre- and post-surveys. | ☐ |

Once you’ve completed the checklist, you’ll receive:
- A digital YFY Online Certificate of Success
- Your name featured on the YFY website and Success Planner
- Credit to your Spartan Experience Transcript, which can be shared with employers or advisors
