Frequently Asked Questions
In partnership with the UNCG Financial Aid Office, the Guarantee Scholars Program (GSP) provides a specialized financial aid package for each student accepted into the program. Since each student’s financial situation is different, the total amount of Guarantee funding will vary.

- Standard estimated Cost of Attendance (CoA) (e.g. tuition and fees, standard room & board, etc.).
- $3,500 in subsidized loans (optional)
- $1,000 in Federal Work Study (optional)
No. The subsidized loans and Federal Work Study (FWS) are considered self-help funds. They are optional, so you are not required to accept them if you do not need them.
No. If you accept the Federal Work Study (FWS) award, it is your responsibility to apply for a Federal Work Study position.
