The Online Student Supporters are dedicated student leaders who support new online students at UNCG. This paid position is responsible for supporting online learners through Online Orientation, hosting peer support sessions and virtual events, and acquainting new online students with the mission, goals, policies, procedures, and resources available at UNCG.

Online Student Supporters serve the university by helping to welcome and transition new online students to UNCG. The primary goal of the position is to assist with the development and implementation of Online Orientation and to provide peer support to online students. As an Online Student Supporter, you will have the opportunity to grow as a leader by hosting peer support sessions and leading weekly virtual events that connect, engage, and support the online learning community at UNCG. 

Online Student Supporters will work 10 hours per week (remote) during the academic year, with the exception of university breaks and holidays.  

Be committed to fulfilling NST&FYE mission and vision

Demonstrate a commitment to UNCG and a willingness to serve others

Exhibit qualities of a student leader: reliable, responsible, confident, flexible, positive attitude, strong work ethic, teamwork, strong communication and interpersonal skills, problem solver, takes initiative, and able to manage conflict

Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75

Be in good academic and disciplinary standing with the university

Be an enrolled student at UNCG for the duration of application window and work period.

Position start date: August 18, 2026

Online Student Supporter synchronous fall training sessions.

10 hours remote work per week, excluding university holidays and breaks.
