PALs primarily serve first-year students as advocates, teaching assistants, and mentors for the FYE 101: Succeed at the G course. FYE 101: Succeed at the G is a first-year seminar course that equips students with the tools and resources to be successful in college. PALs have a distinct leadership opportunity to help students transition during their first year.
PALs must be organized, resourceful, responsible, and flexible. PALs are chosen based on their interpersonal, academic and leadership skills, along with their campus involvement. PALs must maintain at least a 2.75 cumulative grade point average; a 3.0 GPA is preferred.
Application & Interview Process
The online application and optional recommendation form are due 11:55 PM on February 6th, 2020. To complete the application, you must apply on Handshake. Group interviews will take place on February 12th and 13th. Final individual interviews will take place the week of February 17th. Final decisions will be sent out the week of February 24th.
