Participate in a Focus Group for the YFY Success Guide

Your First Year is looking for first-year students to participate in a focus group to provide feedback about the YFY Success Guide. We will offer 4 group times between January 17 – 24, more details will be provided soon to those who are interested. Students who participate will be eligible to win a gift card, and snacks and drinks will be provided during the focus group sessions.

Academic Skills Workshops
Monday, November 15 – Friday, December 3

The Academic Achievement Center is excited to announce their End of Semester Workshop Series for Fall 2021. This series will run from November 15 until December 3, and will include 24 workshops centered around 3 key topics to help students reach the finish line: Time Management, Study Strategies, and Test Preparation.

Thanksgiving Break
Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday, November 24, 25, & 26

Thanksgiving break begins on Wednesday, November 24; be sure to enjoy some of your favorite foods and show your thanks to those who matter to you! UNCG offices will be closed November 25 – 26. Offices will open and classes will resume on Monday, November 29. 
First Finals Fest Kit Pick-Up at LDOC 
Wednesday, December 1

It is almost the end of your first semester at UNCG, and Your First Year wants to celebrate this awesome milestone! On Wednesday, December 1, the Your First Year team will be at LDOC handing out finals kits which include a FREE blue book, scantron, highlighter, and sweet treat! Come see us in the EUC Cone Ballroom from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. 
 
10 random lucky winners will receive a $20 amazon gift card for attending this event! You DON’T want to miss out!
Last Day of Classes & Final Exams 

LDOC: Wednesday, December 1
Mark your calendar – Wednesday, December 1 is the last day of classes! The following day, Thursday, December 2, is Reading Day which is a full day for you to dedicate to preparing for final exams. Offices will still be open, but there will be no classes. To ensure your success, we suggest you begin studying for your finals well before Reading Day. 

Final Exam Week: December 3-9
Give yourselves a round of applause because you’ve finished the semester! Final exams begin on December 3 and go until December 9. You can view the Fall 2021 Final Exam schedule here. Look closely because the final exam schedule is different from your semester’s class schedule. If you have any specific class questions, reach out to your instructors for more information.  
Apply to be a 2022 Peer Academic Leader (PAL)!
Deadline: Monday, January 31 at 11:55 p.m.

The application to be a Peer Academic Leader is open! You can apply for the role on Handshake using the job code #5485679. This is a great paid student leadership opportunity to continue your professional development and make an impact on your UNCG community! File your 2022-2023 FAFSA

The priority period to file your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) has begun for the 2022-2023 academic year. You must file a FAFSA every year for financial aid consideration, and the sooner the better. Read through these Tips for Filing the FAFSA or make a virtual appointment with a Financial Aid counselor using Starfish if you have questions about FAFSA or financial aid.

12/1: First Finals Fest
12/3 – 12/9: Final Exams
